Testimonials
My time at TCPUD was filled with amazing experiences that I will never forget. At first I was extremely nervous to move away form my hometown for the first time in my life. Immediately after moving here, I realized I had made the right choice. The staff was very welcoming and I couldn't have asked for a better group of individuals to work with. They were always there to offer guidance and they were genuinely fun people to be around. They instantly made me feel like I belonged and that I was part of the team.
Between living on the lake, working with Camp Skylandia and the endless outdoor options of outdoor activities, accepting the TCPUD internship was one of the best decisions I had made in my life. I was able to make new friends and connections that I feel will last a lifetime. I feel like it had prepared me to move on in the world of recreation to follow my own dreams and absolutely confirmed the fact that I want to make recreation my career path. Lake Tahoe will forever hold a a place in my heart.

Summer Intern 2021
Spokane, Washington
This summer I was given the opportunity to live and work in Tahoe as an intern for the TCPUD. I now get to forever hold this experience in my heart as it was one of the most memorable summers I have had yet. The housing that they provide is a five-minute drive to town and a short walk to Skylandia Beach. There are beautiful hikes and nature spots all around and delicious food places right on the water. As interns, our schedule was jam packed with camp counseling during the day and local softball scorekeeping on some nights of the week, but I still found that I had time to make some strong connections with tons of people and places. I absolutely loved working and getting to know the staff members at the PUD. Working closely with Kurt, Patrick, Cory, and Carley both in and out of the office, I had so many laughs, fun moments, challenges, and learning experiences. These four showed constant support and were always there to help with optimistic attitudes.
From the start of the internship until the end, I can see where I have grown. For example, persevering through challenging situations that I was unfamiliar with, time management skills, and intentional communication are some areas that I have strengthened. I would highly recommend this internship to anyone who has a determined personality and will appreciate the beauty of Tahoe. It was a dream, thanks TCPUD!
